The Bay Theatre has been serving northern Michigan for more than 70 years. In late 2018, thanks to strong community support, The Bay was saved from permanent closure and began operating as a 501(c)3 non-profit theatre under the name Bay Community Theatre. Today, “The Bay” is run mostly by volunteers, is open 7 days a week, and is visited by more than 15,000 people each year. The theatre is the only movie theatre in our county and has become a cherished community gathering place for movies, live music, and community events.
Our “Take a Seat” Campaign has been a big success. 100% of our new seats have been sponsored by local community members and this raised over $50,000. In addition, several generous local donors and a matching grant from the Michigan Economic Development Corp. enabled us to fully fund this exciting renovation at The Bay Theatre. Thank you!
