Our mission is to bring people together through the joy of film and live entertainment while strengthening our community with shared experiences. As stewards of a beloved landmark, we are committed to preserving its history while ensuring it remains a vibrant space for connection, creativity, and celebration.
Our non-profit theatre operates on a small paid staff and dedicated volunteers. The organization relies on ticket and concession sales, theatre rentals, donations, corporate sponsorships, and patron memberships. Members elect the board of directors each year in our annual meeting in February.
The Bay Community Theatre is a volunteer-run, non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization. We depend on your support to deliver great movies, exciting live events, and continue ongoing improvements.
Thanks to the generous support of our community, the "Take a Seat" Campaign was a great success! We replaced all of our old auditorium seats with 187 new, wider seats manufactured locally in Michigan. The first two rows are removable to allow for tables or dance space, and we refinished our vintage wood floor with new aisle carpeting and lighting.
This renovation was fully funded through community sponsorships and a matching grant, raising over $50,000 to enhance your experience at The Bay Community Theatre. Thank you to everyone who made this possible!
With the generous support of our donors, The Bay Community Theatre successfully installed one of only two 4K laser projectors of this kind in Northern Michigan, elevating the cinema experience for our valued patrons! This projector delivers brighter, sharper images, improved 5.1 surround sound with a newly installed audio processor, and significantly enhanced energy efficiency.
A heartfelt thank-you goes to everyone who contributed — this upgrade would not have been possible without your support.
